Summer Fun

It’s Summer!!!!!! Kinda.

So the warmth isn’t here (yet!) but it is summer. No school. No homework. Tons of free time. Whatever should I do?

But seriously… what do I do? There’s so many things I could do. If it was nice outside, I could go to the local park, on a walk, or on a bike ride. I could read the books on my shelves that have never been opened or dig into one of the thrilling books on faith I have. I could pray more. I could hang out with friends. I could draw some pretty pictures or be lazy and just color them. I could clean my apartment, always! I could sit on my couch and binge watch Netflix and movies all day long. I could maybe be a little healthy and do yoga or workout. I could learn a song on the guitar or the piano.

There is so many things I could do, and I think that’s the problem. I have no idea which one I should pick. I also sometimes feel like maybe I should be doing more of one thing than another. Shouldn’t I be reading more than watching Netflix. Or going on a walk instead of watching Netflix. Or maybe I should clean my apartment instead of watching Netflix. If you haven’t figured it out, I like Netflix.

But is there really one thing that is more important than the rest. Ok, so I should probably make cleaning my apartment a priority but what about the rest? Is drawing better than watching Netflix? Is reading better than hanging out with friends? Should I learn to play a new song over doing yoga?

In all actuality, one is not more important than the other. It won’t affect my life, to extremes, if I watch Netflix or do yoga. The world won’t come crashing to a fatal and epic end if I decide to read instead of hanging out with friends. For some reason, this is hard for me to remember. But there is also another very important thing for me to remember. Do what you love?

Netflix is great but it doesn’t make me feel accomplished and I don’t “love” it. But I do love reading, growing in my faith, going for walks, and learning to play new songs. I have all this free time, so let’s make the best of it. Netflix half of the time (lol) and the things I love the other half.
